well im on about putting a 70s in my aerox soon and im gonna do the crank for reliability. im kinda torn between how to do it.
i can either pay a mechanic £50 to press it, or do it myself with a blowtorch and a freezer.
how easy is it to do myself? ive seen videos but i dont want to fuck it up

you want to do the bearings as well, put bearings and crank in a plastic bag spray them with wd40 first then freezer overnight, split cases heat around bearings with hot air gun then tap them out. get new bearings out the freezer, while case is still hot then tap new ones in, then heat the new bearings and get new crank out the freezer and fit in the hot bearings

should be pretty interesting to see how they do it, I presume it's aimed at the home mechanics

On another note i think stage 6 cranks are already pre-pressed.

just dont turn your puller too hard and keep heating the casings, when you put them in, use a few blocks of wood to keep the case parallell to the bench, use a good bearing punch/ socket if you dont have a bearing punch. and put the oil seals in first, they cant go in too far or you will block the oil channel coming down from the cylinder. and finally, dont punch on the inside of the bearing or you will fuck it. when putting the cases tyogether, use a tiiny bit of sealant ONE side, after you tighten the case bolts the crank might be a little tight, you can hit it with a copper hammer either side to loosen it (lack of thrusts does that). dont hit it too hard or you could bend it.

why is it that you have to freeze the parts and heat the bearings and cases?
cause my mate just took his old crank out and put his new one in.
just need to know for when i do mine
