I've got a gilera runner with a athena 70, yasuni c16, 21mm carb, do I have to run it on premix or can I carry on using the oil pump and putting the oil in seperatley?

piaggio engines have an adjustable oil pump just adjust that so it is set to give more than standard

but pre mixing gives visibly better results on the strip down compared to auto lube

not really a set amount of adjustment tbh

just adjust it so that when the throttle is fully open that it goes past the mark for standard on the pump

You should really premix. Higher revs means more stress on the pump. Buy a stage 6 mixing bottle tells you how much oil to how many litres.

if you do pre mix at 3% (30ml of oil per litre of fuel) a upjet of about 3 sizes to compensate otherwise the oil present in the fuel would cause you to run a tad lean
