burning stuff is ALL down to local byelaws and the bit about chimneys.... you can only burn smokeless fuel IF you're in a smoke regulated area.

Where I am....its smokeless. Theres no let up on that but generally folk will turn a blind eye as long as you dont light in broard daylight... in the middle of summer...when everyones got their clean washing out , windows open and there's a gail blowing smoke in their direction

common sense stuff really. Dont take the piss and it'll usually be OK

IF they do complain, it'll be to Environmental health. They'll either send someone around there and then if available (who'll tell you to put it out and not do it again) or will issue recording sheets for the complainant to fill in on the frequency of fires. THEN they'll do a bit more about it if you continue. Usually consists of a prohibition notice under Environmental Protection Act  ... or a warning from the Housing officer for breach of tenancy if you rent from a Registered Social Landlord (RSL)

you would have been welcome to it...but wouldn't have wanted it..Twas full of dry rot (Merulius lacrymans) so it wasn't safe to store anywhere for any period of time...hence thtas why it got burned asap

cant fault you on the carpet

i've just had to take mine to the tip. I transferred it from the old garage to the new but then when the snow came and melted from the underside of the car, it held all the water and wouldnt dry out. I rolled it up and threw it outside....where it froze solid. I could then take it to the tip in the car without water getting everywhere :yahoo:
