i could sit here all day doing this.... lots of my time is spent researching engines/fitment of most brands... so i find lots of conversions (like a volvo amazon wiht a cossie v6 twin turbo engine?!?!?!) and similar stupid conversions...

not a classified as its too easy to sit on piston heads looking at all the over engineerd shitty cars (like big honda engines in peugots and silly shit like that)

hows this? bike engine in a reliant ? http://reliantrebel.homestead.com/dismantling.html

3500 quid for half a bodged old mini wiht no mot and tax, an allspeed kit, an old nova lump and some shite bodykit (probably to hide the rust rather than repair it) people are SO stupid wiht cars on pistonheads... like the cost you spent = its value LOL jokers. much rather go buy an r33 for the same money....

What the hell is up with people putting 2 FAT exhausts on their cars? That looks bloody stupid!!
If anything, it decreases the value and appeal of the car -.-

The Civic is alright, BUT rather than spending (apparently) £20,000 on the body kit and paint, I'd have tuned the engine instead........Wonder if its a SOHC 1.4 or 1.5 LOL

    wich IS an alfa engine....

never gonna happen. its more work putting the 4x4 work into the fl;oor/sispention that it would be to build a car from scratch. a metro uses subframes, this wont acomidate rear drive, meaning you have to fabricate a new subframe for an axel (shorter driveshafts) then somhow cut the floor away where this is ment to mount to just to clear the lot. the tunnel through the car would ether be intrusive or the engine would sit WAY too far forward... why not put it in a subaru justy? (suzuki swift, jap clone of a metro prittymuch) wich HAS a 4x4 floor and apropriate suspention fitment to accept the correct suspention type for the engine

basicly an old metro wiht a subaru engine is a fail.... its never gonna happen, if it does then you sir would have spent LOTS of money making somthing that looks no better than a 1982 metro.. why not a 6r4 replica? bodykits come off the shelf and the work is the same prittymuch... but it fits. this wont..

i hate to piss on your fireworks.. but its a good idea if your pissed down the pub wiht a few m8's... but an old metro you spent more than a grand building (will be close to 10 by the time this is done, if atall) your a fool as your STILL driving around a rusty old metro.

    talkin of conversions...
My work collegue years back had a RS2000 custom 1979 T reg

he bought a sierra 4x4 2.9 as a write-off and then grafted the engine, gearbox, suspension and 4 wheel running gear onto the RS  keeping the std look of the RS

Didn't quite get it running (carbed it instead of injection) before he sold it as a work in progress before emigrating to New Zealand in 2003

It had such potential tho' Would really liked to have seen it finished and had a drive

did a capri wiht a m8 about 10 years ago wiht the same engine.. there FUCKIN wide engines for what they are (would fit a v8 better) and heavy as fuck.... plus in an escort your always better wiht the lighter revvier 2.0 cossie turbo (pinto based rather than cologne like the 24v)

would have been seriously quick in a straight line, but a mix of understeer and dangerous tail happy charicterists make for a poor conversion.. there are a few nocking about none the less..

the same m8 wiht the capri now has a sierra rs500 shape with a 3.6 cologne based engine (hard to do) with a decent set of pistons, a couple big turbos and some seriously bald tyres... gotta love the mechano nature of fords.
