This is for a friend- Aerox, mhr 70 kit The bike will run fine on the stand but as soon as the back wheel is on the floor its no good. When pulling off under hard acceleration and also when moving giving full throttle the bike bogs. The carb isnt setup 100% but this problem just appeared asif something is breaking down. The bike has had a new spark plug and the red ngk ht cap. The end of the ht lead was pretty chewed so cut off about 1cm to give some fresh wire. Should he be looking at trying a new ht lead/coil?
if the bike is bogging down and the carb is known to be not set up properly... mmm should you be looking to replace the cdi....thats a tricky one that!!! imp:
Wolffy- Thought this was a useful bit of info as it refers to the state of tune but heres the specs mhr 70 kit Hebo crank 21mm delorto carb leovince zx exhuast polini 2g clutch and blue contra spring. Dave- Im thinking its the ht lead as when the engine is under acceleration, the engine will pull on the ht lead. The bike was running about 90-95% complete with no bogging and only little tweeks needed
if the engine is pulling on the HT lead under load then that needs looking at!! and secondly a zx pipe with that set up :msn1: please tell me its temporary untill he can afford something better....
The pipe is temporary hopefully getting a yasuni c20 or thereabout Im not sure what kit it is exactly but I no its no a rep. its a single ring ali kit
well the carbs too small and the exhaust is way off for a kit like that and it ent gona help, BUT you said it ran ok before well youve obviously changed something. sort the ht lead out asap if you think it may be a problem, its cheap anyway. what rollers you got in there?? cos if it revs fine on the stand then its obviously tranny related oh and is it running an open filter?
the airbox has been drilled and then fitted with a malossi filter Its not roller related as its only since a new cap has been fitted any ideas where I could get the head lead from as it looks asif its attached to the coil?
Ok fitted a different coil and lead and exactly the same problem. Its kind of a missfire throughout all the speed range but when the throttle is decreased slightly its fine. A few things I mentioned to him was drain the carb and check the jets check the variator and rollers clean the spark plug hole in the cylinder check the clutch and belt The clutch bell has started to discolor quite badly what effects could this have?
if the running improves when the throttle is decreased a little that is a sure sign the mainjet is incorrect
The only thing that had changed was the spark plug cap. The clutch bell is discolouring what symptoms can this give
