hello i brought a sr50r for spares and i found out that its got a ported and polished barrel and head and piston the boy said that it might be over ported will it run on my bike like if i upjet it and put heaveir rollers in? got a stage 6 pro rep pipe and i can get a new one too! i would just like to use it also would it be ok on a doppler endurance crank? and what about just a normal standard 50 kit how would that be on doppler crank? thanks jordan!
Look mate if you don't belive me then don't worry ill just take the cylenders to the shop near me and ask then. No worrys! Idk I no they are I would just like to no if they would work!
It`s not a question of belief! You need at least a port map to determine the timings and a picture and dimensions of port angles etc. YOU asked the question "will it work on my scoot" The answer is impossible to give without the above plus a load more specs besides.
the shop near you will jusy say ..urm wats porting ..then they will say it will cost £500 to fix ,,u asked people truyed to help then you trhow it in there face ,,over ported what shit are you talkin do you even know what porting is ,,look like you will have to answer your own questions now ,good luuck
Pff ok then. They said yeh the port looks good so it should be ok the only way you will no is if you put it on my bike so. I will do that! Also he said it would run good with a 21 mill carb on it!
yeah so he looked at it and said it was ok yer?? doesnt mean shit get some pics up off and and compare it to a standard layout then youll see if it has or not? why you getting all defensive over it anyway?
did he ask what pipe you was running? or pull up a timing book of his own notes on perfect timings for your bike? then messure the ports and map the timings on the cylinder and grab a calculator? me thinks he literally looked at it and thought he might sell you a big carb... you took this all wrong, if your ever given anything and told its "ported" dont ever belive it, if however your proven wrong then ye you got somthing worth having but again when you buy somthing it will allways be ported and have a good crank, as you cant check there and then. see it all the time as for "it looks nice" you could have a perfectly ported barrel but based on the wrong timings/just too wide for road use and yes you dont know.. so bolt it on, wiht the 21mm carb and dont expect too much help when it doesent run right (wich it wont, it will obviously need setting up) welcome to adult life.. time to be adult about things
