hi there wondering if anyone can help with my scooter 50cc peugeot speedfight 3 i have done some work on it myself and now not working good as need for work as looked at it as only getting 30 mph i fitted a oil tank and pump as was missing when i got bike also removed washer behind variator and put in new rollers and fitted new clutch and drive belt as old ones had oil and grease on linings also changed spark plug and fitted a air filter as it was missing but bike will only do 20 mph now and is not happy like holding back wont go over 6000 revs and stinks of fuel .as was hoping by removing washer would give me a betta top speed but know made worse many thanks

Sounds like it's running too rich. I guess it has a big jet fitted so it would run without the air filter?

Exactly what i was thinking, was it up jetted to run no air box, and now needs down jetting as you have fitted an air box.

also when you refitted the autolube system, did you make sure that (A) it was working and (B) there was no air still in the system and oil was reaching the engine ?

thanks for replys when i fitted auto lube yes i ran to oil and it was coming out of pipe that connect to carb before i reconnected tube i wondered as there was some fuel in tank which was premixed before i added auto lube could be to much oil
just would like to get around 40-45mph out of it now can get 20mph wondering if something like this would help also best to drain fuel and change fuel filter ? https://www.racing-planet.co.uk/car...-p-199516-1.html?cPath=736_53113#.XsE__XVKhdg

yes It is possible that the pre mixed oil combined with the oil from the pump is now too much oil.

Keep the standard carb. Upjet the main jet to 60 and see how it feels
