I've bought loads of sandpaper ranging from 60 to 1200 bought some Autosol Ali polish and thats it! What else do i need for a decent finish? Need weather to be better so i can sit outside and sandpaper x
for a good good finish start with 800 and work ur way down to like 1200 or 1300 then if i was u i would get a polishing wheel from halfords that gose in the end of your drill and tyhe use that and then put autosol on with fingers rub it in till the black starts to come out the then wipe of with clean cloth and then rub hard with new cloth then bing shiney
I've started it, used a flat sander to get most of the ugly ass grey paint got the majority of it off and started to fine down some bits, just gunna take it, bit by bit till i get a very nice finish
my attempt Nitro Morse Wire Brush 120 - little tallow Scotchbrite Wheel 240 - little tallow 400 - little bit more tallow 600 - fair bit of tallow 800 - fair bit of tallow 1200 - loadsa tallow 1500 - loadsa tallow then hard mop (4000) - with black polish then soft mop (6000) - with white polish took me like 5 hours for this finish on first attempt, could definately knock it out in like 3-4 though
ive got mine to a chrome finish but i know it can be shineier i just dont know what to use all i did with myn was use nitromorse got all the paint off and used a buffer using autosol and brasso and a bit of te-cut to get a shiner finish wot do you lot reccomend to actually make it like a mirror.
You need a couple of polishing mops and some cutting compound these folk are really good for supplies http://www.perfectpolishingkits.co.uk/ a bit of time and plenty of black snot later Heres the wheels that my lad did for his RG125 that we're rebuilding and the top yolk Takes time & plenty of patience making sure youve removed the scratches from the previous layer or wet n dry grade. BTW always polish accross the lines or marks left by the previous grade. Going the same way will only make them deeper Hope it helps
