It depends on what setup it's on.

And it also matters like rhys said what you want it for. You can say "performance" but what sort of performance for what sort of riding.

For a PM59 as much as you can throw at it. It doesn't really matter with a 59 as they seem to run well even on an untuned bike.

The Malossi only really works on a higher revving bike which takes some effort on a 125/172. They have hardly any low down power too so are pretty shit for road use. Really you want all the bolt ons and quite a bit of porting to even think about getting your moneys worth out of the Malossi exhaust.

As for proper comparison dyno graphs and what-not there are none. People have done quite a lot of testing of the Polini, Malossi, Jolly moto, and other 125/172 pipes but not against the PM59. Surprise suprise PM Tuning don't feel like doing a comparison dyno run or two on their "amazing" product as they sell plenty and don't have the same honest approach to sales as the Euro scooter part shops.

    It's a shame really. :(

well the saying goes....you win some you lose some

and with pm59 you gain power but lose reliability :nerd:
but then again with all other mods you lose reliability aswell...

but its a decision to go with power and reliability and i speak for the majority on the shack when i say power rules :punk:

if the tweo pipes were infront of me id fit the malossi to my bike.. alot of silly reasons but the delivery is better than the pm with the nsame kind of top speed/power.

There was some power graphs printed comparing the pm pipes and the malossi in tag magazine a couple of years ago....

But the problem was it was on a std 125 drag...so test not relevant to 172 bores :(

interestingly the pm55 produced more power than the 59 on a 125 barrel...
but i beleive that is reversed once a 172 is fitted :D

Yeah dave we used to have it up as a guide but due to it being on a 125 it just confused people.

the springs are weak an the moutn is too stiff... hence they snap. also there welded under tention instead of being properly formed and loose welded like many other pipes. they ALL snap tho and one i sent back eventually got fixd after weeks of grumbeling (the first of the reinforced ones i belive) but ye, POOR customer service and BLATENTLY trying to blame us for THERE shoddy workmanship.. pipe was on the bike all of an hour
