hello i have an aprilia pegaso 125 wich uses the rotax 123 engine out of an aprilia rs125 i just bought the bike today it has very little milage on and is 18 years old when i first picked it up she ran sweet as a nut i warmed it up to running temp and set off to start with for the first 10 mins of the jorney when the throttle was pulled back it seemed bog down but after a few blips of the throttle it didnt and went like the clappers for around 30 miles or so then disaster as i pulled in to a petrol station she started to make a sqicking sounnd from the barrel then just cut out and she starts and revs fine and freely and changes gear fine but its only when the revs die down to tickover the sqeking comes back and she cuts out but when left for around 10mins start it back up ticks over perfect then after about 5 mins of ticking over the sqeking comes back gets worse then she cuts out again please help boil down to what this is i am hopeing its because it hasent been ridden in ages and the piston is bedding in ??? any way please help me dicifer what this is meny thanks stephen
i wouldnt have thought its piston bedding in unless its been freshly rebuilt, but even then a squaeking sound isnt good. it could be bearings bud
