    Hi,

I got a Gilera DNA 50 and the water pump was leaking. Out came the engine for a new pump and I broke one of the copper coils round the stator! Damn!

Bought a new one and fitted it tonight. Prob is, bile now wont start! No spark whatsoever!

I have plugged my multimeter into the head and ht lead and I get 90volts when cranking over, is this enough? Thinking of trying a new plug but I'm at a loss as to what it could be other than that?

Bike was running fine beforehand :(

Okay, new plug still no spark.

When i turn it over I can get the lights to light up dimly, does this mean the stator is ok? The only thing left is the cdi i take it? Is it possible to test them?

Pull your spark plug out have a look to see if its wet and if you can see petrol where the spark plug goes

Ok think i have found the problem! Basically the cables going to the plug from the stator coils are dodgy. No continuation on white and brown. This was a brand new stator but it was from Poland!! I'm going to re-solder and attempt to get some continuation on all cables!!

Stator now fixed!! Will try on the bike tomorrow!

The pins in the plug had been badly crimped on 2 of them and there was no contact! Fingers crossed!

Sorted! Thanks guy's for all the responses! Eventually got there! Brand new stator and 3 bad connections on the pins in the plug!

Soldered them instead now and runs great!

    Thanks again!
