piston rings

    any thing i need to make sure of when i fit them ? i was jst gona whip the old 1's out and slap the new 1's in the same place . cheers

    try not to snap them and put plent of shit 2t oil in side the barrel and around the piston

    yeah cheers mate , iv also herd that the gaps in the piston rings need to be lined up with a specific place , is this true or jst bull ? cheers

    yup theres little 'notches' i call them where the piston sits. just slide the rongaround until the gaps in the rings are lined up with this.

    piston ring gap

    you'll need to check the gaps with a set of feeler gauges my malossi ones were out one was 6 thou the other 9 thou if they dont have enough room to expand its gonna cause problems , the settings on 172 a/c were 9 thou dont know any others think they,ll be in some manual somewhere
