piston rings on a 172

right for some reason they dont seem to sit properly in the grooves there lined up etc just seam tight and its the same with the old ones. nevver have i had rings stick like this i think somethings up can anyone shed any light on this

 

pleas delete due to me being a tard i cleaned it up with some 1200 grit and fecked the gaps up loool

You do know the rings are tapered and have an up and down face? Trapiziodal rings

 

i knew that just cocked up with sanding it a bit all together fine now tho just need to order a new head and few other bits and bobs and the engines done
