Piston Ring position?

    Ive just got some new piston rings because my last ones are shot.

    Is there any specific way to put them on the piston?

    look at the ring grove (look on the side of the piston as you look at it) if its flat both top and bottom and the ring end peg isnt offset to the top or botom then it can go ether way, if you get it on wrong you will know about it as the ring wont push nicely into the piston.

    make sure you locate them properly matching up the ends of each ring with the ball in the piston.

    Once its on there does it matter where the split in the ring is?

    fucking hell are you taking the piss read up ?

    it does matter, if you dont locate the rings with the the little balls in the piston your going to cause serious damage

    lol alright, thanks.

    Havnt done this before, just wanted to be sure so I dont fuck up my cylinder.
