My mate just bought a peugeot speedfight 2 50cc which needed piston and barrell replacing. He bought new barrel and piston set and fitted it. When he started it the scooter ran for 2 seconds then the circlip came out and jammed betweenthe piston and exhaust port. Now he cant take his barrel off cos the piston is stuck tight. Any ideas people? :beg:

Lots of heat? An angle grinder? Big hammer?

try removing the cylinder studs, then see if you can rotate the barrel round to either loosen the clip or line it up with a port so you can free it. just an idea.....good luck with this one!!

the studs were already removed, got it out though, forced it and he had to get a new barrel and piston, now hes encountered another problem, theres a piece of metal stopping the crank spin freely, its stuck between the big circle of the crank and the casing, either that or the crank is bent, if it is a piece of metal, is there any way to remove it without splitting the engine casing? weve tried pushing the metal out with a feeler gauge and spraying oil down the gap. If he cant sort it then hes giving up on mopeds altogether :(

Try one of those strong magnets to see if it'll pull free..

or tip the engine upside down to see if it'll fall out

When I bought my lads ZipSP it had both a 50cc and polini 70 barrel with it...both were off the bike and scored but

the crank wouldn't rotate so we split the cases

    heres why it wouldn't move

it was wedged between the conrod and crank webs

its ok now we split the casing in the end, got it all cleaned up and free now runs smooth but when we went to start the ped loads and loads of fuel pisses out of the exhaust port  reeds are fine, throttle stuck open a little bit like and the barrel hes using has been ported on a standard ped, any ideas?
