Hello people I'm josh I own a piaggio zip I live in Brighton and love my ped I've spent a lot of time on it and pleased with the result but still dyeing to know more about it and what I can do next. It's a piaggio zip 2001 air cooled it has a millossi filter in the original air box a jack up kit a zx-r exhaust 3.8 g rollers millosi belt 2k clutch springs white large spring. I've painted it jet black fitted cut out parts fitted mesh stage 6 stickers black/orange paint job 2 finger levers moded the number plate and back of the ped. Made a L plate bracket. And fitted led side lights with on/off switch. But other than that any ideas what I can do next? The zip tops out at 54 mph but at full throttle has a flat spot but if you drop down to 3/4 throttle power comes back any ideas?... Oh I fitted a stage 6 air filter but the bike just bogged down at all points of throttle. Any help would be nice thanks
you cant really get a 50 zip to go much faster than 60 but get a polini 6 speed variator nd stage 6 belt tht should bring it up to around 60 but if you want to go alot faster get a 70cc kit thts prob the only way you will get over 60 as zips with ther tiny wheels and standard gears normal top out at 58-60 but if you get a 70cc kit you have to get a few other things like bigger carb and a gear up to be honest your better of keeping it standard more reliable less hastle
What's all this bullshit zips can't go fast ? pretty sure people have made them hit a tone on the dyno ? The reason your moped bogs out is due to your rollers they're too light, personally I'd put the airbox back on put a 68 jet in or somewhere round that. Personally I'd buy a polini sport.
