This damn bike failed today on its rear wheel bearing, Im fuming as to me it seems fine, there doesnt seem to be "excessive" play in the wheel at all. They want £60 to carry out the repair, Do you think this is fair? Ive seen em online for about £5 surely it cant be too hard to replace myself ? I cant seem to find the rear wheel bearing for my 4T zip, Only for NRG's and similar bikes, Are these bearings universal? If someone could link me a place where to get one....and fast! and maybe a guide or some advice on how to do it myself. thanks.
Theres loads of online bearing suppliers but its easier to find someone local in the yellow pages and take it down there for them to match up. Alternatively, drift the bearing out from the other side with a long drift, measure if with a vernier and then order off the web. If you struggle to get it back in and are local to Mansfield Notts, I have a 20 ton press for such tings and would fit it FOC if you come to me
