Does anyone know if or how the spring comes off the shock? The one sided forks

My granddad was going to help me but he has fallen ill so that's not possible atm, I've cleaned the chrome bits, I just need to get the spring off to paint the spring and clean where the spring came off.

 

Nope. Sealed unit.
