Piaggio zip doesn't start :/

Ps the zip blew up today well pissed off that's a pm tuning kit down the drain
There is the messed up piston

yes i have had a few AC piaggio's and on rebuilds i used the OEW gasket set like this one

just because there not shown on a diagram docent mean they don't use them.
Piaggio don't make a crank case gasket they use liquid gasket, so that would not be shown on a diagram but it still there? maybe they use liquid on the head? on an engine that as a compression in the cylinder of around 100psi there MUST is a seal of some sort as a little leek would make problem like running lean, not starting, cutting out when warm.

and yer runner 172 always need work doing to them a right money trap

the 172 is the race spec kit, so it will need work. it like the MHR 70cc they need rebuilding ever 100 mile

ah no, he's completely correct
the genuine Piaggio a/c didn't use a head gasket - I guess they relied on perfect machining to seal but I'd certainly use a smear of sealant to put one back together-
all of the aftermarket 50cc a/c piaggio kits use a head gasket though

Alright mate have you tried putting petrol into the carb yet? If so what happened?

 

its getting fuel mate coz i have to remove the air box and put my hand over the carb and move it slowly to get it started :/

 

Choke not working.

if you put your hand over the air inlet your making it work like a choke by letting less air and vus making it rich to help start. i would buy a manual choke pal

 

Well was thinking of buying a senconed hand one off eBay the same ad mine as cant find any with a manual choke, would it matter if I am running pre mix mate?

 

no, pre mix makes no difference as long as you adjusted your jetting or it will just lean.

what carb are you using, you can get manual chokes for all carbs

 

It's a delorto 17.5 carb I am running a 80 main jet with a standard air box but a malossi form inside mate

dod you upjet the carb when you started to premix. the malossi insert need no upjet.
