Piaggio Zip Acceleration problems

I got my pipe fitted and my ped de restricted and ever since as soon as i ride my bike for the first 40 metres or so im full throttling and it just makes a horrible coughing sound and stays at about 5 mph then slowly increases to about 10 i would say. It slowly builds up to sound normal but it dosent sound healthy attall. After this 40 metres it is fine and sounds normal again. Its just everytime i start it up and also if its been left for over 15 20 minutes it will do it aswell. I have a 58 jet in at the moment. Please help much appreciated thanks

 

sound like a mixture issue IMHO. Have you adjusted the air srew?

Have u upjetted your carb??? Since the de-restriction and new pipe???

 

Sounds like could be overheating if u havnt upjetted since pipe and derestrictions i would recommend doing it just incase other wise u will be buying an expensive job

 

my mate upjetted it but its only got a 58 jet in it went from a standard 52 to 58

 

hmm seems a little too big when you open throttle does it try to cut out? and wat colour is your spark plug?

 

it pauses and it dosent seem as if its running perfectly like if i slow down and then accelerate it will pause in between if u no what i mean its not flowing, also my throttle , even though i have taken my hand off the throttle the bike continues to run

 

Hmm have you adjusted carb at all or messed with idle screw or air mixture?

 

yh me and my mate looked at the carb today and fiddled about with screws down there

 

Damm you didnt really need to fiddle with them now you have to mess around with them again to set carb up properly. When fitting a pipe and derestricting a ped all you need to do is upjet carb around 5-10%

 

you know what i have warranty on the bike ima let the fuckers who i bought it off sort it out
