piaggio x9 500 immobiliser problem

Hi there, wondering if anyone can help at all.
I Bought a Piaggio x9 500 4 months ago and had been driving it every day with no trouble it starts every time and runs really well with only 12,000 miles on the clock. now when i push the start button the engine trns over but wont start, i had it looked at by a guy and he told me its an immobiliser problem that cant be bypassed, has anyone got any advise at all?
