where should frame number be on 2008 old shape typhoon? Thanks rob Bought bike in pic but can't find any frame numbers I've checked all usual places just wanted to make sure not missed anywhere If still no joy any one got a frame with numbers intact with logbook?
It's on the R/H side of the frame just under your right heal, if it's not there it's probably stolen. Frame numbers don't rot/rust off as you see on the ebay "numbers fell off" or "rusted off" or even knocked off when I put the frame in the back off my van etc!
Definitely not there great engine numbers and seat bucket match logbook and plate know of anyone whos got a frame ?
50 I'm gutted done all paint and engine work now needs to come apart again Contacted person bought from no reply so clearly they new
might be stolen recovered, so who knows when the frame number was taken off, or it might be painted over if it was recessed numbers. is the v5 in your name. as DVLA would recognise a stolen or written off number when reapplying. there is no different number or any signs of tampering with the number on the frame, so most likely is the frame on the log book
Logbook in my name engine and number plate match logbook There's no numbers at all no grind marks I've sanded back to bare metal doesn't look like numbers have ever been there metal same thickness from end to endcan't get mot cause no numbers and if get stopped police will just take also the engine bolt and nut have no marks to say it ever had a socket put over it Cant prove frame for the reg
I'm not familiar with the typhoon as Marsh is but heres what piaggio say. Piaggio Scooter Models Beverly BV Hexagon MP3 Fly Typhoon X9 Vespa The Piaggio scooter frame VIN numbers and VIN data plates are usually located under the seat at the rear. The numbers are usually stamped on the cross member of the frame and on newer models can be easily viewed through a clear plastic cover. There is often a tamper proof data build sticker affixed to the inside of the seatthat will also list the VIN On earlier scooters the numbers were often stamped onto a metal lip under the seat or into the body at the rear near the wheel. Engine numbers are generally stamped into the engine casing in the area where it joins the rear wheel.
I read same thing it's got the data tags under seat with engine numbers and vin all match logbook but no numbers on actual frame
and DVLA will only accept stamped by authenticated piaggio representative, as in garage. how you go about it might be strange. just read a story about a BMW who's garage had authenticated the vin but didn't have the tools to restamp, and advised he had the work done by a body shop
