Hello everyone .need some help please
I have a Piaggio Typhoon 125 2t engine I tried to put a new Malossi variator on but it would not fit because the crank threds have worn down .
is there anyway to fix this or will I have to get a new crank .
    thanks

There's nothing wrong with the crank, there all like that on 125/180cc Piaggio engines, just fit the variator with the supplied spacer. A well set up std variator will work just as well !

    thanks
Don’t seem to fit even with the spacer variator just spins .
I had to add 2 shims to make it lock in place but now there's not enough space to get the other parts / nut back on .
I might have to get a stranded variator again

That's the problem with Malossi variator, yes it spins, it is designed for a race crank that has splines all along tail of crank, the std variator will work fine on std crank. You can't shim it to fit.
