Hi there, I have a Piaggio skipper ST125 with the 4st leader engine. Today, when I finished work I walked to my ped, keys in, ignition on, hit starter button and BROOOM she starts, as normal. I waited for the choke to go off (takes a min or 2, warming up I guess), then let it tick over for 30odd seconds as normal.. Drive home, taking a dee-tour to let the tranny and engine warm up properly.. Get home, turn off ped.. Package by my front door with my new exhaust Wooo! Which I havent fitted yet. 30 - 45mins later I needed to go out, and actually NEEDED to use the skipper... Key in, ignition on, hit starter button and it like half turned the engine over, then "spun", like many peds do sometimes.. Turned ignition off, then back on, hit button and the engine starts turning over, but wouldnt start. I attempted for just a few seconds then turned off the ignition again. Turned it back on, hit the button and now it wont turn the engine over at all.. Just sounds like its trying but cant make the engine do a single spin without "slipping", sometimes it turns it over half way then stops (dash and lights all dimmed at this point untill I release the starter button).. I did get a slight wiff of petrol, so maybe it flooded? Ok, so Ive left it since 5pm and now its 6:30pm, went to try again and its doing the same thing, not even turning it over slightly!! Battery guage shows theres plently of life left, so its not a weak battery. Completly stock ped, worked one min then not at all.. Did it manage to break itself by sitting under my portch doing nothing? Also, the idiot who designed this ped didnt make them with a back-up kick start.. So if the battery dies im screwed :rtfm: What could possibly be wrong? Any help would be great!
runner 125 fx try cleaning and tightening battery connections.mine did this,all the lights were working everything except starter motor which would manage half a turn then stop.my runner always spins the starter after 6-7 seconds on the button. hope this helps?
