so just bought another mallosi MHR replica AIR COOLED kit. Done 45 miles on it and seems to be running ok, doing around 7-8 thousand revs with it at around 30 to 40 mph. The manual that comes with the bore says to run the bore in for 40-60 mins as i did with the first one and it blew after 25 miles but my mate told me to run it in for 200 miles as it is AIR COOLED? not to sure what to do so help is much appriciated!

if its an MHR-replica, it will be an alloy kit with a nikasil plated bore, so doesnt really require any running in...

I would warm it up and let it cool down a couple of times, or in other words take it easy for the 1st couple of journeys ;)

you also need to find out why the last kit seized, the rep is a pretty reliable kit, and doesnt just seize for no reason...

Well with first kit i wasent using synthetic oil and didnt let it warm up and cool down like i have done with this new kit :) just wana make sure that it is worn in properly as i really dont want this one to blow, ive done 45 miles under 30 basicly, only been up to 40mph couple times with it so hopefully its all good and thanks for your help! :)

It's best to use regular 2 stroke oil with a new kit for the first 100km. The synthetic oil is too slick and and could just glaze the cylinder walls rather than the parts mate with each other. But......like Capri Dave says nicasil plating seems not to need much break in. What you might want to do is to re-torque wrench the head bolts after 200 and 1000km as after it warms up and cools down a number of times, the bolts stretch and the gaskets squish sometimes more than you might expect.....sometimes not. Just good to know that everything is tight.
