today i started my nrg and it was full reving its self, ive had a mess around with the tickover screw and it makes no differance, what could it be ?

 

Jammed throttle cable, sticking carb float or float valve, leaking bad fuel tap to name a few

sounds like youve got an air leek mate have a look at your manifold for any splits or tears also make sure everyting is tightened up properly round the carb area (manifold, jubilee clips, airbox etc)

 

if i start it and spray wd40 on is that how you check ?

 

just look for any rips or cracks and make sure all is tight mate but yes ive heard of peaple doing it this way
