Hello! So, I have a Piaggio nrg purejet year 2008 50cc. When I bought the moped, it was good and performed well with absolutely no problems. But after 2 weeks the problems started. At first, it was stuttering but it was still alright. Then it got worse and worse more sputtering and the acceleration was not as good as well as the speed also wasn’t the same, I couldn’t hit anything above 50kmh. I found out that when it's cold everything is good no sputtering and really fast but when it gets hot it starts sputtering and gets slow. One day I wanted to drive to the store, but when the moped just failed to start, tried a couple of more times and it just would not start. I decided to take a look (this is my first moped I don’t really know anything about them) when I took off the plastics, I found out that the fuel pump is not functioning as it should function, removed it and took a look at some YouTube videos to learn more about them after watching the YouTube videos I was sure it was the fuel pump but they are really expensive around 300eur. So, I did not want to risk it and fix it myself because I could be wrong so I just took the moped to a mechanic. After 3 months they fixed it when I went to take the moped back it was still sputtering and the speed with the acceleration was still the same, they changed the 2 fuel pumps a small black one and a bigger grey one. After questioning them why it was still sputtering and slow, they responded “15000km for a moped is a lot so you probably need a cylinder kit swap” That really annoyed me because they didn’t really know what they were doing I got scammed at 1000eur while the moped costed 750eur and after the repair the only thing that changed was that it was starting but still sputtering while idle and while driving. I couldn’t get past 50kmh while when I bought it I managed to hit 86kmh. Long story short I found a reliable mechanic to swap the cylinder, the only thing was that it was his first time working on a purejet. A couple of days ago I went to take the scooter back he said that it will need some time to adjust because everything is new. Now it works better but still when it's cold no sputtering and really fast I managed to hit 82kmh but when it gets hot everything changes it starts sputtering, but now when it's hot the speed is not as bad, I hit 75kmh when it’s hot but not above that, the acceleration when its hot is still the same its just slow. It has nearly been a year with this moped and I’m really frustrated after spending 1140eur it is still sputtering. No one really knows the problem I tried to google this and did not really find anything useful, one YouTube video had the same problem but no fix and no fix in the comments. Could it maybe be the ECU or something? The reliable mechanic also said that something was done with the wiring and the wiring was horrible wires weren't tied up some of them were damaged but the mechanic fixed the wires. When it’s hot I can also hold the moped with my feet while full throttling, but when it’s cold no way I could hold it. I pinned some videos where you can hear the sputtering and you can see that the rpm needle is jumping and not staying still (its a lot worse when its cold), I do not think it should be doing that. Please I really need some advice about what the problem could be.[IMG]
