    Hi
I have a 2005 piaggio lc nrg power and had the mechanical water pump fail a couple of times now and someone suggested installing a electric water pump but can't find any info on how to install one so any help would be much appreciated
    Thanks
    Andrew

Connect it up and run a 12v ign feed to it. Or alternatively run a 12v from the battery and a switch

The std water pumps work fine, fitting a new seal does not involve stripping engine down. If you were to fit an electric pump then you would need to strip engine to block off pump shaft and remove impeller. You fit electric pumps in the water hose from rad to engine (cooler side).

It's all in the Haynes workshop manual, yes you need some kit special kit but it can be done, you'll need a slide hammer with homemade attachment ! Impeller is left hand thread !! The new seal has to be fitted from transmission side due to it having a tappered outer edge. I'll try to get a photo of my slide hammer.
