I have got a piaggio 53 plate Nrg air cooled, it's got a 70cc kit on but the piston is broken and I need a new one or a whole new kit. It has got a Leo vince tt exhaust on and a dellorto 17.5mm carb!!

I have just acquired a mikuni 30mm carb...is there any reason I can't put it on my Nrg 70??

I don't mind buying different jets and different rollers...

    Any advice greatly received!

    Cheers
    Mick.

seems a bit over kill to me and the 17.5 is more than enough for your setup

A 30mm on a 172 is a bit overkill. A 30mm on a sport or even mid 70 is completely and utterly pointless.

Sell it on a Lammy or Vespa forum and but something more suitable really.

Hmmm didn't realise it would be so bad! So the set up I have once I get the 70 will be sufficeint??

Depends what 70 you go for but in most cases yeah I don't see why not. You might see some minor gains from a 19 or 21mm but anything bigger is just a waste of set up time and petrol on anything except mid and race set ups.

Ok well I can't really spend a lot on a kit, the barrel and rings are in good nick, could I just get a 47 mm piston?
