    Hi..Here goes
The boy has just bought a piaggio NRg power aircooled 50cc(07 plate uk)
I warmed it up for a bit it then blasted it down the road and it screamed its tittes of at 9000rpm and went nowhere (i am 14st)
out come the tools and apart it came..
this is what i found inside
    - Malossi variator with malossi sliders(red)
    - Malossi x kelver belt (like new)
    - Malossi rollers 5.7g most of them with 1 flat spot, not big but enough to notice and they were all DRY
    - Baby blue coloured clutch springs - not sure of make but i think its standard ???
    - Malossi red air filter in std box but with no pipe on the end of the std box leading to open air
    - Spark plug was light brown on the end and was a NGK BR9ES..
    - PM Tuning exhaust in good condition
    - Pm Tuning bottle booster attached
    - The plastics that were around the cyl head were removed, i can only think that it was to create more air flow over the air cooled head to keep it cooler??
    - Ive not gone into the carb as of yet as im hoping that with all this done they would have re-jetted that as well.
    - When i ran it didnt seem to misfire/bog down so im thinking its ok

What is your opinion of the setup so far and what could be improved or made more compatible with each other as the boys just wants it to go like stink and piss all over his friend peds
its been a long time since i played with a stroker and never messed around with all this stuff only MX bikes
im gonna replace the rollers but not sure what weight to get/im thinking 7.0gs

    - Ps the boy weighs 8st/51kgs (lucker fooker)
    - Appriciate all your input/ideas

sounds like the rollers are too light pal or the belt is slipping

    Hey Steve
Rollers were 5.7 and flat spots on all of them
Got 7.0 rollers in now an bought lighter one also so I can have a play
Belt is like new but someone said it needs lots of heat to work properly
The secondary air system has been removed so tubes into side cover vent is open to outside cold air
Side cover is being sprayed as we speak so not able to update on running new rollers yet
    But all input welcome!!

i rode a speedshite at work yesterday that did the same, but it cleared up, think it was because it had been stood for a while, the clutch springs are aftermarket ones. low rpm at a guess, sounds like the clutch is partially seized maybe? try taking the clutch shoes out, taking the glaze off and making sure they move out ok (lever them with a screwdriver)

Clutch looks fine and has baby blue springs attached?! Any good??
It has a touch of glaze but I've roughed it up slightly
Just waiting for cover to come back from paint and then I'll post the results

ah failed by my english again, i meant that your clutch springs are aftermarket ones, standard piaggio are just like black, usually with a blue dot on them i beleive (i see so many minerelli engines at work i forget what piaggios are like!)

    Just a quick question
Do the rollers need to be greased when installed from new
I've read somewhere they like grease but can't find the thread and now not sure if I read it wrong
    Malossi packet says nothing

i think standard runner vx vario needs greased rollers, maybe some bigger bikes (quads and such). its probably a noise thing i would guess, ive not greased rollers on any of the bikes ive worked on (100+)

    Right then ....SORTED???
7g malossi rollers in and torqued up to spec..left dry as advised lol
clutch gently roughed up as it was kinda shined in places
    Cover replaced and torqued up
Firstly the electric starter doesn't engage properly sometimes but does engage and start but kick works fine
But mainly the bike pulls a lot better and sends him off down the road flying pmsl
55(clock) top speed on flat road and he's happy (main thing)
I've not ridden it but how does 55 mph sound for the mods attached???

Battery was fully charged up before I hooked it up..
It was over filled with electrolyte so I extracted it to correct level an left on a trickle charger for over a week
Is it possible to mis allign the bendix wheel as it never done this before I played with it..
