    Hi everyone,

How does an air cooled NRG compare to an aerox performance wise? I mean drestricted 50cc, with a pipe and bigger carb, not 70cc or anything.

There is a local guy who has offered me a very good deal on a 2005 NRG with 6,000 miles on it. My aerox does a true 55mph (says 65-70 on the clocks) but its a 2000 model and just turned 22,000 miles. I want something newer really but i like the aerox performance.

    What are your thoughts?

Generally liquid cooling is best for tuning. But I've setup Nrg's with pipes before and they hit 50ish road speed.

Well the NRG has a TT pipe so not exactly the best, and has the 17.5mm carb without the restrictor removed, i reckon it will go alright.

Do you reckon the fast that my aerox needs an MOT at the end of the month will affect the value?

Brass plate in the carb isn't a restrictor. and m.o.t is only like £40 so take that off when you sell it if they want money off ?

Are you sure it isnt a restrictor? The airflow must be really blocked up by it, the holes are tiny!

Also, would it be the same engine as in yours?

Yes I am sure. it is not a re-stricter as such. It aids the fuel flow when it's a 50. Does nothing to help performance to take it out unless you fit a 70cc kit. Yes it would be except Nrg is 2 inches longer(bigger wheel)

Ah okay thanks very much, so i guess its kinda like a velocity stack? More gas speed rather than volume?

the brass plate directs the right amount of air flow for the tick over and pilot jet for start up and set of its needed on a 50

In my opinion Aerox's are really fast even stock! you should keep the rox!

but why are the LC scoots best for tuning Jonnymarrw00t?
