    alright,

I'm taking delivery of a (so called) piaggio nrg 100cc tomorrow. Now i have seen a 50cc and a 125cc but never a 100cc, i have looked for 100cc nrg's and cant seem to find much on them.

Can anyone give me any clarity on this???

    Cheers for any help,
    Mick

    alot of shit
No such thing , peugeot make a variety of 100cc scooters as well as a few others like honda and yamaha but they are 4t .
Nrg's didn't even come in 125 form , they were converted to 125 cc by 16 year old with a argos tool kit and a couple of cable ties.

only piaggio engines , so most italian 50cc and typhoon or runner 125 ,unless its some dodgy welded mounts that let yamaha engine to go in :DD

Ok so Italian engines are good enough the only plausible 100cc engine I can find is the zip 4T!!! Any good or not??? If it is a piaggio conversion but now you have me worried about dodgy welding ha I'll check it out n let yous know

Cheers, pics to follow tomorrow afternoon!

right, i have spotted a zip 4t 100cc engine, is this a viable engine that could of been put into the nrg??

does anyone rate the 4t zip 100cc engine??

    cheers for any extra input,
    mick

dont see why ayone in there right mind would put a 4t 100 engine in a 50 frame tbh. any 100 engine (4t or not) is gonna be about the same power as a 50 anyway. and you cant even get a nrg wheel on a zip engine (which is the only logical engine to put in). pure chop shoppery tbh.

imo youll save yourself alot of hassle and ball ache if you just buy a nrg with a good, correct engine.

right iv got it now, its dark now but he gave me the the old piston and one side of it has snapped off at the bottom which i suspect is in the bottom of the crank case!!, i have measured the width and its 47.0mm which iv looked on the net and the only conclusion i can come up with is its a 70cc big bore kit!!!! it has a tt exhaust on.

cheers for all of your input lads, it turns out the clown just didnt know what he was talking about haha ill take the engine off tomorrow so i can see what kit is on and ill stick some pics up...its a bit tatty but nothing serious!!!

i wouldnt have touched that bike why did you accept it if you suspected the other bit of the piston is floating around the engine. sounds like its gonna start costing you a lot of money

I'm not worried about the broken piston I am a qualified mechanic so I know my way around a n engine and carb n such like.

The reason I took it was because I had 2 scooters which were beyond repair, so I thought I'd cut my losses this new one is not a bad motor to be fair and the service history is exceptional, best iv ever seen, so today I am going to have a look round it and sort out a parts list! I might stick a picture up here later

Oh and one thing has me confused why would the clocks register the mileage in kms?? Import???!!!

most bike record the mileage in kilometres mate, nothing to really worry about there are plenty of converters online to work it out the miles it has done online

cheers, just discovered it has a dellorto 17.5mm carb on. this mixed with leo vince tt and what impresuming to be a 70cc kit (47mm piston) i think this could have a bit of poke once iv put a new piston in.

any one selling a 70 air cooled kit for a piaggio nrg 2003??

would be best of getting a new 70 kit tbh, and the 17.5 delly is standard on the piaggio's so would check that its been upjetted or add a 21ml to your shopping list, will be a quick enough bike when its all done ;)

you should be able to find the panels needed relatively easily, they are a common bike and someone on here may even have a few nocking about if you ask around, and yeah sounds mistreated just give it the love it needs and will be a good little bike

no need for a 21mm carb on a air cooled 70. you dont want to be fitting a tt pipe on a 70 kit the least you want is a zx pipe if your going for leo vince or even try another make but like i say the TT pipe is designed for 50 barrels. Malossi cast iron kit a zx pipe drop a gram on the rollers keep the air box and jet it to suit and you will have a decent pulling bike but dont forget it will only go as fast as the gearing allows so if you want more top end you need to gear up.
