Any ideas ? .. just changed the CDi unit fitted a new ignition switch and checked all fuses i could find... im not sure about the ignition coil.. ? read somewhere i should be measureing some sort of ohms resistance but im measuring nothing no mater what setting i have the ohms meter set to. ?? help !! the engine turns over on the starter motor but no spark....
for the small cost of a new coil, replace it. Plus the cap and plug. After that, check the gap between the pick up and flywheel, should be 1mm max. Check the pick up for resistance. Was it working with the old cdi?
Hiyas Steve.... cheers for the reply.... yep ive put in a brand new coil... the cdi is brand new i cant say what was working before ..this scooter has been stuck in someones shed for the last 10 years... its rust free dry and in good condition but no life... can u explain about the flywheel gap... im guessing take off the plastic cover from the right hand side of the engine..and check there... what resitance should i be measuring ? from the pick up ? .. thanks again in advance !
