For a while now I have been through hell trying to get this moped to spark in any way but cannot think what the issue could be. I have replaced the cdi unis and immobilizer as well as the ignition barrel along with a new coil pack and still nothing. Considering purchasing a new wiring loom has anyone got any suggestions of what could possibly be the problem?

Have you put the earth wire upto the starter motor and any other earths? If you have ,check under the fly wheel/magneto for any rust or dirt I usually sand down all connectors if they look rusty or dirty check all wires are connected properly under their.

From what I can see everything is earthed unless something has broken off up inside the loom itself as I have a suspicion that everything wrong with it is due to flood damage or something. Will give it all a good clean up soon and probaby get a multimetre to check everything. Thanks for the reply hopefully this will get it sparking :)

Not being funny.....but have you checked the fuse.?.,had to wait another day to pick my VSX up cause it'd blown - can get a cheap joblot off e/b.always handy.......;).
Immobilzer bypasses are quite cheap too.

Yeah that is another thing to check I had a speedfight 100 which kept cutting out due to a faulty fuse it did spark as started up fine but my fuse didn't appear to be fully blown, but if all your electrics work then fuse must be good.

Replacing the fuse was one of the first things I had done as the original was blown. Sadly that didn't help but thanks for the suggestion anyways ;)

Brand new fuse in it and still no spark. Completely baffled by this at the moment. Might break open the loom and see if somethings wrong in there and if something is visibly broken and I cant repair it ill probably buy a new one. Spent ages trying to work out what several wires were for as several bits were missing so I wouldn't be surprised if there is damage in the loom itself.
