Peugeot Speedfight 4 Transmission Cover

Hello all,

I'm not completely new to scootering as I had a Piaggio Typhoon air cooled 2T 125 when I was 17, and have recently returned to the fold (17 years later) in the form of a new Speedfight 4 Total Sport LC 50CC 2 stroke just to nip a few miles to work and back on a daily basis.

One observation is though, the transmission cover has no vent or air feed to it for cooling. Is this the norm on scooters? I'm purely asking just out of interest and trying to learn a bit off the better informed people on the forum!
