Hi I'm Alex Just bought a Speedfighter 2 (07) It started and went well all good just small hole in the exhaust. Next day went to fill with fuel and Oil and noticed that the Oil filter was on the wrong way! (old Owner) Welded the hole and put the Oil filter on the right way. Started up fine with full back pressure running well on idle rode up the road and approx 60 secs it died? Will still start and run on idle but as soon as i rev it will cut out? Not sure where to start with this one?? heat seized? blockage? Thanks

Check for any air leaks in the pipe from the air filter to the carb and reed block. If there are no air leaks, check that the automatic choke is working correctly and cuts off after starting (they are known to be temperamental). Check the colour of the insulator of the plug.

When you re-fitted the filter to the oil line, did you prime the oil pump? Did the oil line after the filter remain full of oil when you did this, as you might have airlocked the oil pump. I used a syringe on the oil pump outlet to pull oil into the pump and make sure that the line is full right up to the carb.

Blue isn't good and could indicate a weak mixture. That backs up what I said about checking for air leaks.
