I recently bought a crashed peugeot 2 stoke carburated for cheap, only front plastics damaged ran great before the crash, stock motor stock everything got to about 65/70 km/h. When i got it would not run, i cleaned the carb, checked the fuel pump all working, saw that the cdi was located in the front, and took a good look at it. I saw that it was broken in half no wonder it would not run, bought a replacement motorforce cdi, original not available where im at. Tried to start it, saw that the intake boot was cracked, replaced the intake boot reeds and reed block (and all the gaskets on the intake side). Started first kick idled nice, i left it to warm up while i put on the plastics for about 15min, very good idle no stuttering, but i noticed the engine was not at operating temp (only about 50°C), went for a little drive up and down the street. It was accelerating like normal till about 30-35 km/h and wouldnt go over that speed. It started running rough, engine temp went to about 65°C at this point, stopped for about 5-10min, let it idle got to normal temp 85-90°C went for a ride again, still same problem, im wondering, is it maybe the carb that got some how damaged in the fall, or is it the wrong cdi even after double checking it fit the bike. Im contemplating buying a new dellorto 17.5mm carb (original is 12mm not dellorto forgot the brand). Anyone that has any idea about peugeot scooters and their problems feel free to comment. Im kinda stuck at the moment, dont really wanna be spending on a new carb if it doesnt need it, dont plan on buying exhausts or cylinder kits for it. Just gonna use it to ride around town.

This is the cdi i bought: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/276188850853
