Hi all haven't been on in a while as been manic but have started building the vivacity again.after god knows how many months lol i have since put a new loom in the vivacity as the original one was cut and chopped a few times, the only difference between the looms is the new one has a different peugeot immobilised cdi and a smaller voltage regulater. i have done a cdi sway to a motoforce racing cdi following this http://elystar.ardane.com/nonchipkey-en.htm but i have no spark, i have double checked the wiring to the cdi and it is exactly how it should be, its a new spark plug aswel what is the next port of call to look at? As im stumped and getting frustrated lol
Which immobiliser did the Viva have originally, the AEC 400 or the ACI 100? The two units work a little differently. Have you checked this page? http://stenberg.dk/ACE400.htm
Have a bog standard loom in my Vivacity,ACI 100- bypass...plugged straight & no problems with the electrics,sparking.whatsoever.mk.
It originally had ACI100 cdi but since got a donor vivacity with better loom with the AEC400 cdi With the AEC400 cdi do I just run stator wire to the ignition instead of the left over wire I have from the cdi?
Donor Vivacity AEC400.?,these are all the wiring looms i've got listed at home, #1 Speedfight 1,with basic CDI ignition system #2.Speedfight with AEC 400 ignition system #3.Speedfight with ACI 100 ignition system #4.Trekker with basic CDI ignition system #5.Trekker with AEC 400 ignition system #6.Trekker with ACI ignition system #7.Vivacity with basic CDI ignition system. #8.Vivacity with ACI 100 ignition system #9.Vivacity Sportline (electric speedo).
Yea I'm pretty sure it's an AEC400 as looks the spitting image of the one in the post that was linked I have replaced my stator to a 4 wire one which has the seperate red/black wire I will try fit original one tonight and rewire the cdi as is suggested in the link and see if I get a spark
No idea,tbh,bought it off a banker who worked in the city,who used it for commuting.,have'nt needed to do nowt with it/self,cept ride,clean. CDI I've got now is a a straight replacement(1st owner).no mods needed,dealer serviced (2nd owner),me 3rd owner(fix it/self ).
Here's some pictures of cdi that was on the diner vivacity Rechecked all wiring and it is how it should be following the write up There are 3 wires I have left from the original CDI which are: red, blue (which I assume are immobiliser light) and a black wire which becomes a positive feed when ignition is switched on, is this meant to be wired to anything if I'm bypassing to a basic CDI?
Now i'm getting confused.., #2.ACI 100,as AEC is 8 wire/ACI,6., 3 wires?,red.ignition....blue.immobiliser warning light....bkack.indicator warning lights., Fraid,can't be more help,mate..can't take pic of my own cdi,as had a bit of an off monday,right shoulder seized/left hand 20% movement...can't even hold a b.screwdriver right now., Best of luck.mk.
Ah so is an ACI100, must be old style or even a bypass unit as there is nowhere for the immobiliser ring to plug into the CDI Even so after wiring up a bAsic CDI I should get a spark as it's all been bypassed
As I have converted from ACI100 to basic do I have to make my ignition look like this from the back? As the write up I followed only converts ignition to 4 wires (red, black, green and black and grey) and not additional red/black wire
On mine,it's just unplug old, plug in new (nothing else, needed to be done)-(immobilse ancilleries, now irrellevent), never even seen back of my ignition switch.....though the bypass converted it,to an on/off switch only.,on being signified.by fuel gauge coming on-line.mk.
Basic Vivacity ( ignition.main.switch) #1.from left (BLACK):-ties into....brake light switches,turn signal relay,turn signal warning light,fuel gauge,oil level sensor,horn switch. #2.(GREEN):-( - ),battery. #3.(BLACK/WHITE),CDI. #4.(RED),reg/rectifier,fuse to ( + ) battery. #5.(RED/BLACK),direct to alternator. Starter relay ( 4 pin ) = top left (2,blue,1 direct to starter switch,1 to oil level warning light)/ top right (1red, + to battery) / bottom left (1,red,direct to starter motor) / bottom right ( 1,green ( - ) to battery.mk.
I haven't wired my stator to my ignition as write up only mentioned a black/grey wire Do you reckon that could be my problem? I have run the red/black stator wire straight to the cdi, is that right?
