Having added a new exhaust to my pug ludix, I am left with a stray hose that was attached to the exhaust spigot of the stock exhaust. After markets don't have this spigot. I have researched the pipe and concluded its an air circulation pump that draws in fresh air via a pump and puts it back through the exhaust to clean the emissions? Clever, so why do after markets not use it? And what do I now do with the stray pipe? Should I plug both inlet and outlet or leave them open to breath freely? Engine damage risks? Performance changes? Advice appreciated, thanks.

thing is, this piece of crap is just a cheat round emissions.. theres less hydrocarbons per square foot of air, but the SAME amount of hydrocarbons comming from the vehicle..

anything the engine operates, requires power.. remove any ancillary items (not needed for the engine to run) for maximum power/efficencey :)

will be quicker without it, not by much, but by a little.. thats why they dont use them on aftermarket pipes. they seriously upset the gassflow/pulses inside the exhaust also, something crutial to a 2t.

junk it.. stick it in a cupboard wiht the stock pipe and refit it once you come to sell the bike. not sure on the exact model bike (dont touch anything not piaggio/gilera) so check the "in" pipe to the valve is just into the trans case/sopmewhere irrelevent.. if its fed from the airbox BLOCK the hole it used to be attached to up... usually they just suck air from the transmission area.

i had that pump on my ludix, all i did was remove all pipes and block off the two outlets on the pump by threading bolts in
