    Hi,
Still getting a strong smell of petrol in my garage if I forget to really tighten the petrol tank cap down. Got thinking about the tank breather valve so I tried blowing back up the breather valve tube (after giving the end a good clean). I couldn't blow back into the tank, so wondering how this works. Is it a one way valve?
Appreciate any info on the system.
    Piaggio Zip 50 2T.
    Thanks.

Doing some research I came across the following,

'You cannot put fuel into your tank, unless you can get the air out...and you cannot withdraw fuel from your tank unless you can let air in'.

Makes sense, so I should be able to blow air into the tank via the breather tube???

In theory you should be able to but it sounds to me like there is some kind of safety valve preventing you from doing so.

    I was thinking that Milo.
    Hope we're correct.
    Thanks.

Update. Tried again with the engine running and was able to blow up the tube into the tank.
So I'm making the assumption that's how it should be.
