When i first got my zip it wouldnt start so i checked all the obvious things spark plug ect. then took the 21m carb off cleaned it all and cleared the jets and it worked. Yesterday on my lunch brake i was on my way home and the petrol light started flickering so i went and filled up. When i went to leave it wouldnt start, iv checked everything i can think of plug, carb, bore but couldnt find anything wrong with it. When i sprayed abit of easy start into the carb it sounded asif it wanted to go but then just gave up again, im sure it is something to do with the petrol because when the petrol pipe is removed from the carb only a tiny bit of petrol trickles out but when the other tube that goes from the petrol tank to the carb not sure what its called? is blown into the petrol flows properly again but it STILL doesnt start can anybody helpp?
the reason only a little bit of petrol comes from the pipe is because it will have a vacume pipe, if you suck on that pipe the fule will come out of the fule pipe , i would check that and if theres still no petrol coming out check your fule tap.
sounds like the spark plug to me, have you checked for a spark ? is the plug wet with fuel after youve tried to start it ? if the plugs wet, then theres plenty of fuel getting to the engine...
Yeh i had already checked the plug, i took the reedblock out to check the valves and one side was disintigrated, put a new malossi block in there that i had laying about and it works fine now. Cheers for the replys
