On average how much more top speed do you get out of a sports exhaust on a Yamaha jog r? It does 45mph now but I want to be able to ride on the bypass without holding everyone up. Any suggestions?
Hi With minarelli horizontal engines - not much. 45 is pretty good stock - and it's probable that the variator is maxed out. But with, say, a Yasuni R and a gear up kit - then you'd definitely be going faster - Bear in mind that putting a good pipe on a scoot is not just a slap-on deal. You need lighter rollers and an upjet too - probably some stiffer clutch springs - and some faffing to make it work well. It's well worth it though.
I know a few people with jogs that can do 50mph standard so they say at least but I've heard a lot of good things when talking about the speed they can do. I'm quite gutted now because someone was a selling a yasuni r for £40. Cheers mate
I know haha I've had over 50 myself but it was a big hill. I think I'd be better off with a 125. Although I'm broke
I've found another technigas exhaust but its like 200 miles away and he won't post it and the most annoying thing is he only wants £25
http://www.pedparts.co.uk/blog/sports-exhaust-testing-50cc-and-70cc-sports-mopeds-part-one have a look/ read here. i only have yasunis here. but quite a few........
By the looks of it I should try a stage 6 70 kit because I got a technigas silent pro exhaust, thanks for the help
Depends on the year. The yam ignitions get worse every year. An old one, you might not notice any difference. A newer model? Probably.
After 2003 they changed them . My gal's ovetto is like that. It's alright- no restriction that I could detect. But is sure went better with the Doppler internal rotor ignition. A stage6 streetrace cylinder/ piston would do more than the Cdi- I have no doubt about that.
Opinions on a polini race exhaust? I don't know what one it is but the person only wants £40. Should I buy it for my jog
