Did you jet the carb? You need to upjet or it will run leaner and eventually overheat.
Rollers wont make a difference in engine temp.
What ped have you got? Because on my old zip sp on a very rare occasion it will light up the temp guage to the max but only for a few seconds when the engine was cold, then went back to normal.

If I dont warm my runner 50 up, and just ride on a cold engine the temp guage (which is faulty), will go up to about half way (only sometimes), when it normally sits just above the 1st bar..

But dont assume its your ped playing games like mine do..

okay thanks. well it came on again.and i have an Aerox with leo vince tt exhaust (de restricted) i had changed the jet to 72 from a 62 that was the standard jet.
it dont seem to be showing the characteristics of running lean apart from the heat. sounds silly but yeh.
im sure the rollers would make a diff wouldnt they cus they allow the piston to rev higher

i have taken out the 72 and the only other bigger jet i have is a 82 so i put that in it, all seems solved apart from the initial warm what takes agesss!
full throlte when cold wont go hardly anywer then slowly faster nd faster. will i just need to put a smaller jet in ?

Your standard CDI should have a rev limiter so no matter how high your engine revs it wont over-rev. So dont worry about that too much for now.

Check spark plug colour for dry & white/gray colour. If its like that then its running lean!

check nuts are done up right on the engine bay and check ur coolant or if air u might have cut the feed when changing it?

i checked the coolant its at the right level. and when i checked the spark plug with the 72 jet it was a brown colour and this is a good colour but then that dont explain why the over heating light came on but ow i have the bigger jet the light dont come on any more but i will just have to go down in size to get the correct jet. Cheers for ur help

    Overheating ped

If its liquid cooled, check there isnt any leaking out the pump. This is a very common problem on aerox's so in this case you just need to change the bearings in the pump. its a £10 fix.
Otherwise jetting, if uve just had a new pipe fitted.

    gd luck
