just seen someone using a universal 12v fan on a liquid cooled, ive got an air cooled bike that always overheats.. just wondering would it make much difference if i bought a little 12v fan and put it in front of the head?.. And how much hassel would it be to wire in?..
positive negative to a switch then to the fan then from switch too battery. Probs wouldn't help tbh. can't get them to spin fast enough.
As jonny said its pretty much pointless. You'd do better to find out why it's always overheating instead tbh as its not really something that should happen all the time. Saying that I've got a 20cm pc fan that I thought of putting on the seat inner on my typhoon for no real reason
tbh i really don't know why it's over heating, its running slightly to rich.. and it still overheats, you got any ideas?..
Worn gaskets, wrong amount of oil, letting it idle too much ect ect..Lean and rich can both cause overheating btw and having it set up bang on can only make things easier (y)
i know its not worn gaskets, what do you mean by wrong amount of oil?.. its slightly to rich and smokes a little bit the whole time i run it.. and i dont really let it idle, i warm it up for a few mins in the morning before i ride and take it slow for a few mins to properly warm up.. yeah i know running to rich isnt great but just cant get the right balance ran it to lean and it seized, soo always running it slightly to rich..
For the sake of £20 or so, it's worth putting in a new piston and top end gasket. Also, make sure you have the right spark plug. Are the cooling shrouds fitting as they should?
it wasnt done long ago, and it done it with the barrel and piston before.. its been a problem the whole time ive had the bike :/ yeah ive got the right plug.. was running iridium pulgs before but they were running to hot.. what the casing over the head?.. if soo checked them, any other ideas kinda stuck with this?
