Is it illegal? I thought it was fine untill I seen one of my mates £120 fine :wtf:
yeah u can get a fine mate, most of the time you get found out from the cctv cameras rather than the actual ticket people,
you cant park on the actual slabs but i think you can park on the little bit of tarmac next to it thats what my instructor said anyway when i was on my training
my m8 got an £80 fine from a ticket woman just for his wheel being alittle bit off the pavment so cars couldnt park next to it, what a load of bullshit, she said it was coz other drivers might not know there "space" around the car, i fort isnt that what u pass a test for! lol
blaaaahhhhhh I thought it was part of the point having a scoot lol ahh well he better pay it while he can for half price! imp: Thanks
yer he prob wudda but when it was parked outside subway n he walked out wi subway sarnies in his hand, u get the picture. anyway he paid it, but i wudda fuckin challanged it.
Reply Nice idea lol. Yeah I find myself just opting for a close parking spot if I'm in some places. My sister's man parked his ST a little bit over the lines as the parking spot next to him was half taken up by workers who'd caged it off and got a parking ticket. Even though the space next to him was over half-full with roadworks and you'd be lucky to slip a scooter in the space. I also got told I couldn't park on an empty, useless, bit of tarmac between car spaces as "you need to park that in the motorcycle bay". Exactly 2 feet away on an equally useless bit of tarmac. Everyone goes on about them ALL being idiots. I'm sure there's a few alright guys/girls out there but stone me I've never found one. Why not say "hey man not sure if you know but there's new motorcycle parking round there now"...then I'd know and use it anyway instead of doing that BUT thinking these guys are idiots. If you get done for pavement parking make sure you give it a few minutes research to see if the land is privately owned cos if it is :bird: happy days, the most you need do is apologise to the owner and make an excuse
traffic warden spent 10 minutes LOOKING for my mates tax disc, couldnt touch the bike so he looked everywhere, mate walked out, got on his bike and rode off, warden told him he was lucky he couldnt find the disc, so my mate got it out his tank (dna) and showed him haha
fuck knows, he told me when he came round the other day wardens round here dont have a clue, locals are all over 60 so hardly anyone knows what a scooter is, let alone the laws surrounding them.
