i fitted a pm x-tech 70 kit yesterday to the set up in my sig, it started up on the second kick once it was all back together so i took it for a slow ride to start running it in but after about 15 mins of riding i ould hear the water was bubbling, so i stopped and there was water coming out of the pipe cylinder head, and it was bubbling up for about 5 mins till it cooled down, anyway i took the engine out last night and it had blew the head gasket, so i replaced that and checked everything over and it all looked ok. this morning i took it out for another slow ride and after about 10 mins the same thing happened so ive got the engine out again and ive checked the water pump and the thermastat and they are both working fine.

i havent got a clue what it could be now so anyone of you got an idea?

    thanks for reading

i would be sniffing around the thermostat, sounds like its stuck closed and so its not circulating the coolant

if it was working properly before then its probable something you done while rebuilding the engine are all the hoses back in the correct place then start investigating waterpump thermo etc..

I'd say thermostat too, but if ur sure it works then are you putting the right amount of water in? lol try the simple and cheap things first, it can only be things that you have chnaged if it just start doing this after you fitted the kit

    alot of shit
theres a small bolt on the head, loosen that untill the water starts flowing and not spitting out, tighten the bolt up and fill the bottle up :nerd:

there isn't one on an aeorx... you could always leave it ticking over with the coolent cap off :)

there is on the pm x-tech kit mate but i couldnt get to it as the bike was built back up, so i had the bike ticking over for about 10 mins with the cap off and i was pumping the pipes for a bit, once i had done that it went out again and once again it stopped, ive stripped the top end off and the thermostat has come apart???? but luckily it has not broke anything else, i tryed the thermostat yesterday and it was working perfectly, but as its broke into pieces i think it must not of been working and the water has got so hot it has blew the gaskets

anyone think the same?? will it do any harm trying it without a thermostat?

    thanks

nope, can run without a thermostat just means that the engine will take slightly longer to warm up so you will need to let it warm up for a bit longer

most aftermarket kits have the bleed nipples

the mhr rep has two lil brass nipples with rubber caps, ive had it before when there was a slight tear which slowly drained all the coolant and was overheating. but it does have to be bled properly!
