After plenty research I realise there are many ways to skin a cat on this one.

If one fits the bearings to the crankcase halves first then fits the crankshaft to the bearings.
Can I fit crankshaft seals after the crankshaft is fitted as to avoid the possibility of overheating them?

How much heat can the seals actually take? Oven temp at say 120ÂșC?

I have seen lots of tutorials and videos on fitting the crankshaft and bearings in various orders, but have noticed that they always have no crankshaft seal. I do not know if this is only demo or fitted later. My Haynes manual states fit the crankshaft seals, the bearing to the crank and then to crankcases.

So you want to run your engine with no crank seals?

I heat the cases up with a blow torch then push the bearings in, then heat up the centre of the bearings and put the crank in, after I've centralised the crank I let it cool down, then I put the seals in.

Think hes saying do the seals go in after the bearing and crank is in?

LOL, yes that is what I am trying to say, put the seal in last. Thanks Jonny, much appreciated!
