This 1 is really a head banger :banghead: . soo many people say dont fit them they r shit but just as many people say they are excellent u should run 1 instead of an air box.I have bought myself a stage 6 small read (not small atall) air filter but as my bike is not running at the moment have not had a chance to try it out. what is your opinion on open air filters???

Open airfilters are only anygood (performance wise), when your engine is so highly tuned the standard box becomes restrictive. Your airbox will supply sufficiant airflow upto a high spec mid-race setup, so unless you building a RACEING engine, you dont need an open filter.

The MAIN reason why people bolt on filters to a standard 50 or sport 70 setup, is PURELY for the extra noise produced (sounds more like a 172 mak10zzz brav), and for the looks (a open filter looks more sporty than a airbox)

Stick with the airbox untill you build a race motor. If you want, stick a red malossi spounge filter in your airbox, these do give a little more airflow over the stock spounge but no increase in noise.
