right, i was riding my scooter home, and it was all fine. but then i went around a roundabout onto a duel carridway and it lost loads of power, like it went very flat, and wouldnt go over 35 clock speed (normally goes 55 clock speed) i thought it was going to seize or something, so i got it home aand revved it on the stand to clear it etc, went round the block and its still terrible. i havnt got a clue what the problem is! and btw its all standard except derestrict, 2001 yamaha neos
sumthins probably blocked and needs cleanin. this happens to everyone who has a scooter. clean air filter, clean main jet/carb , chek if ur gettin a gud spark then clean it.... what the hell, clean it all.. :w00t:
yeah but the thing is i had all carb off etc last night and it worked fine after like all of last night and going to school this morn, just stand i think, ill have a look at the transmission first
if it did this befor and you clkeaned it out and now its happening aghain you wanna flush out your tank.
okay, ive had the carb off, stripped, and cleaned, ive cleaned pipes etc. still same problem n00b question, right on my carb, i have the choke cable, throttle cable, 2 pipes from fuel tank, and i think a pulse pipe ? (comes from then engine) now there is another bit that looks like where a pipe should go, and it looks like there has been as its clean, but what would this be and where wud it go ? ta
yeah, well theres one vacuum pipe, but im thinkin there shud b 2, so where do these connect to on the engine
if im right, i thought that there was only 1 vacuum pipe and it doesnt get conected to the engine :wtf:
might be a pulse pipe or somthing, i dno, theres 2 pipe goin from fuel tank, choke cable throttle cable another random pipe which i dno n it loks like there shud b another pipe but i dno
Whats a pulse pipe?? the two pipes coming from the petrol tank are the fuel line and vacuum, the should be at least three tubes going to the carb; oil, fuel and vacuum. there should be the throttle cable and the auto choke, also on some liquid cooled bikes there a further two hoses which pump warm coolant through the carb to assist when cold starting. if you think that there is a hose missing then follow all the hoses and check once again.
petrol vaccum plugs in under the reedblock on the crank case doesent it. might have fallen out or something
:worthless: a vaccum pipe will give this effect but so will a minor seize. also damaged reed petals. first thing to do thought would be to check the compression.
ive so been there before i just rid mine then was going to town once going down a hill it became unblocked then over took a bus n a lorry just to check :w00t:
okay, whats this then? i dont know if its a breather or what? EDIT: That isnt my exact carb, mines the same as that but the nipples are in diff places, but still the same things. im gonna check the plug etc, might take head off. but im gonna get rollers and a pipe
ill proberly take the head off and re-torque it up etc. what should it be torqued to ? and if i compression test it what should it be? also ive noticed with this problem, it runs okay for about 3 mins, so when its cool, but then once its warm its cack agen
well, ive stuck new rollers in. the small pipe actually goes to the oil pmup, and then thereis a main fuel supply and a vacuum pipe, the other port should have a short pipe on it leading to nothing 'cus its a breather.
okay, still problems. exhaust - fine rollers - fine clutch - fine carb and pipes - fine and clean brakes - not binding plug - fine (well it looks okay, but it may be as it only happens when tis a bit warmer) i dont get this, its not like any things slipping as its not revving etc, its just flat and not as responsive, ive like like 20mph out of it! it seems to be going fine, but then if i stop at a junction or traffics lights for like 10secs it goes all rubbish again really need to know!
