    Hi all,

Im basically brand new to scooters and especially 2 strokes, my mini bikes take 2 stroke oil as premix with the fuel, however I have seen that some bikes have premix oil injectors etc into the intake so you don't need to premix?

What is the usual setup? The engine I will be using is an '04 zip 50 AC, it will be run at full throttle so I would be wanting a mix of 32:1 rather than 50:1 due to the increased rpms and heat meaning that more oil will be needed vs everyday driving.

Just remove the oil pump and block up the oil intake on the carb and run it premix.

It won't be running a standard carb anyway, are there oil pump removal kits?

all you do is take the oil pump and oil tank if you want and leave it as it is if you are using aftermarket carb with no oil intake

The engine I am getting for the project currently has no carb attached so will be going with an upgraded option anyway and set the jetting to suit.

    1. unbolt the pump, remove everything else but leave the washer behind the variator. You want to remove the oil tank, but make sure you leave the oil sensor on, or the lights dont work properly.

I have 1 screw out, the other isn't going to come out in 1 piece (its damaged) there is no oil tank attached to the engine and the bike won't have lights :) seems that there are just 2 bolts holding it on! Is there anything I need to block up?

If it's air cooled then no. if your carb has a oil inlet make sure it's blocked up either chemical metal over it or get a piece of two stroke pipe and put a bolt in the end of it. Works for me. Or it'll make your bike run lean. I had that problem geting mine off. I ended up heating the skrew up.

There currently isn't a carb connected to the engine - will be bolting on an upgraded carb anyway, I am also converting the engine to water cooling.
